About Me

After 30 years of serving as a nurse in the NHS, I’ve had the privilege of building a deeply fulfilling career dedicated to caring for others. My journey in healthcare has been extraordinary, shaped by compassion and a profound understanding of how various treatments can influence well-being. Alongside my professional life, personal experiences led me to explore alternative therapies, igniting a passion for holistic health and the powerful impact that wellness practices can have on both the body and mind.

 

As I began to reflect on life after nursing, I realized it was time to embrace the creativity that had always been a part of me. I’ve long had a love for design, particularly in flower arranging and home décor. However, it was my enduring affection for candles that truly sparked my next adventure. I’ve always believed that candles possess a unique magic—the way they fill a room with warmth, evoke memories, and transform moods. Over the years, my home has housed an overflowing collection of candles, each chosen for its design, fragrance, or seasonal charm.

 

In recent years, with my healthcare background guiding me, I’ve become increasingly mindful of the candles I bring into my home. I now gravitate towards eco-friendly options, with a focus on health-conscious ingredients that align with my values of sustainability and well-being.

 

This newfound focus has led me to create Waterhouse Wax & Wicks a candle brand born out of my love for design, my dedication to holistic health, and my belief in the simple joys that a beautifully crafted candle can bring. Each candle is thoughtfully made to enhance well-being, crafted from eco-friendly materials, and designed to inspire peace, comfort, and a sense of sanctuary in every space.
